Our Mission
Chosen Angels Inc. provides wraparound and community building services for foster care youth and families, formerly incarcerated, battered, homeless, and/or economically unstable youth and adults, the disabled, and their families. Our services will provide family reunification and (foster) parent coaching, prison community re-entry programs, housing and employment assistance, counseling and mental health support, immigration services, youth mentorship and development for boys and girls, utility bill aid, LGBTQ support for youth and adults, and numerous other community programs and resources.
Our Founder
Meet Dr. Cynthia 'Big Mama' Mendenhall. She is a lifetime Imperial Courts Projects resident with a honorary Doctor of Humanity Degree who has dedicated the past 30+ years to creating life-changing impact for Black & Brown families across LA's most underserved and at-risk communities. Unfortunately, Big Mama's success in bettering the lives of those around her has come with significant costs in her own life. Still, despite a lifetime of sacrifice, loss and adversity, Big Mama continues to give everything she has to her community today. Now, as founder of her new nonprofit: Chosen Angels Inc, Big Mama needs your support in order to take her impact even further.
